Robert Zemeckis To Direct A Drama Based On Marwencol, Wants Leonardo DiCaprio For The Lead

Jeff Malmberg’s documentary, Marwencol, is an utterly captivating look at the life of Mark Hogancamp, who, following a severe beating, built a one-sixth scale town in his back garden called Marwencol.

The town is themed around World War II and is a form of therapy for Hogancamp, both physically and mentally.

Variety are reporting today that Robert Zemeckis has signed on to direct a dramatic feature for Universal based on Mark Hogancamp’s life and the documentary. Zemeckis’ first choice to play Hogancamp is reportedly Leonardo DiCaprio.
