The Walking Dead: Escape NYCC, Via Google Glass

The following is part of a series of videos by Marq Romero of his NYCC experience using Google Glass.

The Walking Dead Escape was an event held outside of NYCC and is the official zombie obstacle course of The Walking Dead. I heard about this event when it first took place at SDCC in 2012 so when I heard it was coming to the Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum in NYC I quickly got a group of friends together to do this. You had the choice of either going through the zombie-infested obstacle course as a survivor, or you could go through the professional makeup process of getting turned into a walker and scare people on the course for two hours. We obviously chose the latter.

I was fortunate enough to be able to wear Google Glass as a zombie while still looking scary enough to frighten a bunch of people. It was so much more fun that I thought it was going to be and I'd gladly do it again as a walker next time. Who says you only die once?

Here's the video I made with footage from Google Glass documenting everything from getting my makeup done to scaring people on the obstacle course. If you ever wanted to know what it's like from a zombie's perspective, it is actually like nothing you would expect. At least in my case. Watch the video to find out exactly what I mean.

So that's it! My last NYCC Through Google Glass post! In conclusion, NYCC was awesome and having Google Glass made taking photos/videos easier, helping me to document my weekend in a convenient and hands-free fashion. I had so much fun making these videos for you guys and look forward to doing the same next year. Thanks to Rich Johnston for having me on board!
