First Clip From Alex Gibney’s Lance Armstrong Documentary, The Armstrong Lie

Alex Gibney is certainly a hard-worker. He currently appears to be averaging around two documentaries a year, with Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God and Park Avenue: Money, Power and the American Dream in 2012 and We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks and The Armstrong Lie in 2013.

His two most recent docs, We Steal Secrets and The Armstrong Lie, both center on two very controversial public figures, Julian Assange and Lance Armstrong. Gibney received some criticism for his treatment of Assange in We Steal Secrets – some claiming he was too hard on him and others too soft – so it will be interesting to see if he encounters the same issues with The Armstrong Lie.

Today we got our first clip from the film and it’s taken from just hours after Armstrong recorded his Oprah interview.

The Armstrong Lie just premiered at Venice and will play Toronto early next week. It will also play the London Film Festival in October. No release dates have been confirmed for the film yet.
