Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot To Become Judi Dench And Dustin Hoffman Movie, Script By Richard Curtis

esio trot

Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench are to star in the BBC’s film of Esio Trot, a rather lovely Roald Dahl story about a rapidly growing tortoise and elderly romance. Mainly the romance, really, but the tortoise is a great maguffin.

According to Showbiz 411, the film will start production in England this Summer with Little Dorrit director Dearbhla Walsh. What 411 don’t seem to know is that the film’s screenplay is by Richard Curtis, or that the BBC are – or at least were, maybe Dench and Hoffman change this – intending to premiere the film on TV this Christmas.
