Marvel Book Benicio Del Toro For A Series Of Movies

Guardians of the Galaxy seems to be more tightly woven into the overall Marvel Movieverse every day.

We recently learned that a certain SHIELD agent has booked a turn in the movie, which presumably means at least part of the action will be planted in the present day. And yep, that was an attempt at a Groot pun seeing as we know he’ll be in the same scenes.

And now Deadline have learned that Benicio Del Toro has signed on for a series of Marvel pictures, just starting with Guardians.

This time around at least he’s expected to get a lead role but I’m not even going to guess what it might be. Too many possibilities – including the Raccoon and the tree thing.

What a lot of new characters there are in this one, and so many of them filled with fine actors. Well played. Here’s hoping the script is of a suitable calibre.
