Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 To Be Directed By Joachim Rønning And Espen Sandberg

penelope cruz pirates of the caribbeanBandidas, Max Manus and Kon-Tiki directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg have won the job of directing the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

I’d be very surprised if this doesn’t reunite them with their Bandidas star Penelope Cruz. And then I’d be only a little surprised if they also call in Salma Hayek and stage a reunion.

According to Deadline, production on the fifth Pirates film will get underway at the end of this year or the start of next. I would assume that this means Rønning and Sandberg’s plans for the 60s-set, Norwegian muscial comedy Beatles won’t be coming to fruition any time soon. I’m certainly disappointed about that.
