UK Trailer And Poster For Steven Soderbergh’s “Too Gay” Swan Song, Behind The Candelabra

behind the candelabra

Steven Soderbergh turned to HBO for the funds to make Behind the Candelabra because, as he said, the studios refused to back movie, calling it “too gay.” Ridiculous.

HBO’s business model will see them releasing Candelabra straight to their cable channels without any kind of cinema release, but here in the UK, the rights went to EOne. As a result, I’m very pleased to say, we’ll be getting the film in British cinemas from June 7th.

Here’s a new trailer for that UK release, and that’s the new poster up above. Does the poster lack decorum and taste? Actually… maybe not enough. Maybe it could have been chintzier.

Bonus: here’s the last UK trailer, from a week or so back.
