Dark Horse To Publish Halo, Elfquest And Shaolin Cowboy

elfAt the Diamond Comic Distributor retailer summit being held in Chicago right now, Dark Horse has announced it will be publishing comics based on the Halo videogame, the license most recently published by Marvel. The first three-issue mini-series will feature Sarah Palmer and the Spartan 4 program, with Brian Reed writing.

It will also be publishing Elfquest, recently published by DC Comics. The Final Quest w, which will be the very final Elfquest series (hence the name) starts this year with reproductions of the old material to follow.

They will also be putting out merchandise based on the Powers comic by Bendis and Oeming published by Marvel.

They announced sales so far on Star Wars #1 at over $75,000 so far. Their original-draft comic adaptation "The Star Wars" will last eight issues.

Hellboy In Hell is their best selling Hellboy series in years. Issue 5 will come out at the end of the year, will be collected and then will continue from #6 into the foreseeable future.

Expect thematic sequels to the Zelda Hyrule Historia volume across other gaming brands, as Dark Horse plan to keep their first in print indefinitely.

The first Victories trade collection will be $10 and they plan to ramp up their #1 for $1 programme. And those who order at least 25 copies of The New Victories #1 will get a unique piece of artwork for their store. Michael Oeming has already created a hundred such piece to go out to retailers. And Brian Wood will be doing the same for The Massive #13.

Captain Midnight will also return, following Joe Casey's nine issue run on Catalyst, which features three different artists and three stories each issue.

They also showed a trailer for the upcoming RIPD movie, packed with Jeff Bridges one liners.

We will get a new Shaolin Cowboy comic from Geof Darrow in October, and Dark Horse will be publishing it.

And Lone Wolf And Cub will move to omnibus format…
