X-Men Days Of Future Past Adds Adan Canto As An Angry, Flaming Mutant – Probably Sunspot?

Bryan Singer and members of the X-Men: Days of Future Past cast have been out at a hockey game in Montreal. As you would do, if you were in Montreal. Here’s an image that Singer tweeted from the occasion.

Who’s this Canto chap, on the far right? Well, his reply tweet made it pretty clear. This is Adan Canto, who can currently be seen in The Following, if you’re one of those people still watching The Following.

He shared the image and said, simply:

Proud to be X-Men.

As to why he’ll be playing, I think there’s a pretty good clue buried deeper in Canto’s Twitter feed. On April 8th he was asked:

no hints on your new projects??

To which replied:

I might turn into a ball of fire if someone pisses me off.

Well, so might I, but I haven’t been cast in an X-Men movie so I think this was a clue, and I think it means he’ll be playing Sunspot.

Canto is Mexican, and Bobby da Costa, Sunspot’s alias, is Brazillian, so it would be a much better match than, say, Sunfire who is, in the comics at least, Japanese.

In any case, it looks like we have another mutant. How many is that now…?
