Heroes Could Be Coming Back, But Not To The TV Networks This Time…

heroes logoMSN have been looking to acquire, or where appropriate commission, original TV series for their X-Box marketplace, all in a fashion not too dissimilar to what’s been going on at Amazon and Netflix.

According to a report by TV Line, one of their big ideas would be to resurrect Heroes, the NBC TV show.

While this new version wouldn’t star the same cast as the original – a streaming show would need some much cheaper players – the plan would be to feature the old favourites in cameos. Jumping on to a fresh start shouldn’t be too disruptive, really, as the show did skip along quite readily between seasons.

I can see the logic of the content and medium match. The owners of X-Box consoles would tend to be a suitable audience for a genre show.

There’s no word on who might be involved creatively; specifically, there’s no mention of Heroes’ creator and showrunner Tim Kring. Theres still plenty of time for him to get involved, though – discussions are said to be just preliminary right now.
