Wednesday Runaround – Waiting For Thursday

DAY WAITERS

Remember those days when British comic shops got their comics on Thursday and we'd all have to stay off the internet for a day?

Well, those days are back! This week at least, where in the UK, New Comic Day is on Thursday, Blame Easter.

THE WRAP

DC tell retailers;

DC Entertainment is pleased to announce starting with titles arriving in stores on April 3, all hardcovers now will be shrinkwrapped.

"Based in part on conversations we had with retailers at ComicsPro, we've decided to bring back shrinkwrap for hardcovers," said Bob Wayne, DC's SVP—Sales.

Which might solve a lot of complaints regarding damage of late…

GOING ONCE

A Vancouver man is selling his large comics collection, going back to the sixties. Could be some gems in there?

BABS AND DICK

Gail Simone is asked and answers;

I have to ask because it's been a bit hard to understand since the reboot, but were Barbara and Dick ever a couple in this universe? I only ask because all they seem to do is fight. Also I love your work! Yay Women writing comics!!

….

We have not set anything in stone, but there was definitely a mutual crush and attraction, the step beyond puppy love, when they were teens. In my headcanon at this point, the real sparks between them have not yet flown.

Again, this is just how I see it. I believe it's in their characters, it will happen. But we are at a stage in their history where it hasn't happened YET.

My opinion, could change at a moment's notice. ;)

PAYING THE KINGMAKER

Pádraig Ó Méalóid breaks new ground on the Marvelman story;

I am starting to hear stories from sources I cannot possibly name that Marvel have bought out Garry Leach's rights, not only to all his Marvelman work, presumably including any news characters he co-created with Moore along the way, but also the 50% rights share he has in the Warpsmiths property.

BY THE COVER

As well as checking your copy of Stormwatch #19 today/tomorrow, in case they are Batwing #19 on the inside, do also check that your Age Of Ultron #4 isn't missing it's middle eight pages, as seems to have affected some issues.

PAINTING THE TOWN REDFORD

Is it just me, or do you reckon Robert Redford's character name in the Marvel films could be Henry Peter Gyrich?

IT'S KEVIN

Kevin Keller gets a novel… and for more Archie news today, does anyone have PACER access? Pretty please?
