Finally We Know Who Peter Weller Is Playing In Star Trek Into Darkness

peter wellerOur man Michael Moran has gone off at a secret location to watch almost 40 minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness and when he gets back to Earth, he’ll tell you all about it. In the meantime, here’s one easily relatable factoid gleaned from the footage: Peter Weller is playing a Starfleet Admiral that goes by the name of Marcus.

The father of Carole Marcus, Alice Eve’s character? That remains to be clarified, but it sounds like a reasonable bet.

In the second issue of the tie-in comic, Robert April made mention of one Alex Marcus, referring to him as his first officer and good friend. I would expect it’s the same character.

Even if it isn’t, I think we can forget any of the Weller Is Khan theories now. I’d forgotten them anyway…

…because Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Khan, right? And I think that’s going to be made official before too long now…

…unless there’s some leg-pulling going on. I mean, whispering voices can tell me whatever they want about Khan, the Robert April theory still catches my imagination. Perhaps I just so desperately want it to be true I can’t quite believe the very plausible Khan stories I’m being told.

Perhaps Moran will come back with more clues. Here’s hoping.
