I Know It Seems Unlikely, But This Isn’t Actually Kermit – Set Pictures From The Muppets… Again

The Daily Mail have published a series of snaps from the Tower of London where, earlier this week James Bobin and The Muppets filmed climactic scenes for The Muppets… Again.

I think they’ve got their facts wrong, though. I don’t think this is Kermit the Frog. Look closely.

Now, I don’t want to give too much away but let me remind you of how Kermit explained the film’s storyline:

The idea of this film is that our gang is on this global tour, and we’re selling out these grand theaters all over Europe—in Berlin, Madrid, London—but we sort of get into a little bit of trouble when we run across my doppleganger. He’s the world’s number one criminal, Constantine, and he happens to look an awful lot like me. I won’t tell you any more than that, but let’s just say mayhem ensues…

I don’t think Constantine and Kermit look exactly alike. I think they have one distinguishing feature…

As I understand it, the scenes set in London happen, at least for the most part, towards the end of the film. The Tower of London sequence, which we partly revealed before, is pretty much the big climax. This is where the evil Constantine is trying to make his big score.

One interesting thing to note is that Constantine’s assistant in these pictures is Steve Whitmire, who also works in the employ of Kermit. I guess that means the two frogs won’t have many dialogue scenes together, and when they do, we’ll be relying on split-screen and post production to pull it off.

Either that or Whitmire is fully ambidextrous, has great reach and brilliantly trained feet. I know he’s an absolute genius but he can’t be a freak of nature with it, surely?

The Muppets… Again will be filming for another month or so at least and should roll out in UK and US cinemas next March. Hurrah!

Now here’s a video from the set.

Dear lord, I love that frog.
