Christoph Waltz Is Miniature But Evil In This Latest Trailer For Epic

There’s a brightness and vividness to many of the images in this new trailer for Epic that really pleased my eye. My ear, meanwhile, was overjoyed by every little bit of Christoph Waltz.

The last CG family film to be based on a fantasy story by William Joyce was Rise of the Guardians. That was tremendous, but also a dismal box office lunk that saw Dreamworks write off a good chunk of their investment. Epic looks unlikely to be so much of either of those things – I doubt it will be quite as winning, or for that matter as ‘losing.’

Still, I’m immeasurably more interested in this than I was any of Blue Sky’s Ice Age pictures, at least since I actually saw the first one, so I’m hoping for the best all round.
