Trailer: Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie

According to this trailer, the budget for Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie was just $69,000. Will the animation belie those tight purse strings?

Well, it wears its budget on its sleeve. I’d have to see the whole thing to decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but so far… I have to say I’m not sure it’s working for me.

The film is going to go on tour, paired with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes Q&A sessions, which will then become podcasts. As you’d expect, ticket prices are going to be pretty steep – over $40 a piece. I hope they bring out Steve Stark, who directed the film, too. I’d like think he at least gets a good road trip out of this.

So… how long until the film breaks even? And does that mean we’re going to be seeing one of these every year? Every six months?
