Jennifer Lawrence Is David O. Russell's New Regular, Set For His Two Next Movies

David O. Russell is currently in production on The Film Formerly Known As American Bullshit, a 70s-set account of the FBI “Abscam” sting operation. It’s a fascinating story – so much so that I’ll leave the details out of it here in case you haven’t already heard what went down.

All you really need to know right now is that Christian Bale is on board to play a convicted con artist working with the FBI, Bradley Cooper has a role and that Jennifer Lawrence will be popping up too.

And then, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence has also agreed to work with Russell on his next project, The Ends of The Earth, making it three in a row for the duo. Nifty hat trick on both of their parts.

In fact, it’s Lawrence who became attached to this film first – back in the Summer of last year – and it’s Russell who’s the new addition.

The Ends Of The Earth has been scripted by Chris Terrio, the screenwriter of Argo, and it’s apparently about a powerful oil tycoon losing everything after he has an affair.

It’s not yet clear if it’s Lawrence’s character that this chap has the affair with, if she’s part of the everything he loses or if there’s somewhere else for her to pop up. Maybe out of a bore hole.

Russell gave a statement to THR about the actress and it’s slightly off-topic, I think, but seems very sincere.

Jennifer possesses a self-deprecating humor that made all of the cast and crew feel at ease. She is that kind of person… she is the most dedicated person I know. She is devoted to her family and they have been the true inspiration for her character and integrity. Her acting is effortless and she always makes it look easy.

Russell and Lawrence are both Oscar nominated for The Silver Linings Playbook and they’re the ones I’ll be rooting for come Sunday night.
