Netflix Commission Pablo Escobar Series From Robocop’s Jose Padilha

According to Broadcast, the latest original content commission from Netflix is Narcos, a series about Medellin drug lord Pablo Escobar. It was created by Jose Padilha, director of the Elite Squad movies and the upcoming Robocop reboot, and will be written by Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro, two of the writers on the recent Sorceror’s Apprentice, of all things.

So, while none of that really packs the same perceived prestige as Kevin Spacey and David Fincher doing House of Cards, it does have the Escobar touch. I don’t know what it is that makes him such an alluring figure for people, but I know that he is.

Maybe it’s just the moustache. Those are certainly popular.
