Justice League Movie Has A Bad Week – Thursday Trending Topics

justice league movieThe Justice League movie's script is terrible? The film is an excellent way to lose $200 Million? Ouch.

I think everyone reading this knows it would be perfectly possible to do an Avengers-caliber job on this.  Critics will point to the recent string of underwhelming Warner Bros DC Comics-based movies (outside of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight films, of course) but… so?  I seem to recall a couple decades or so of reading about ambitious-sounding Marvel-based film projects in the old Comics Scene mag and elsewhere, none of which even got into theaters.  Then Bryan Singer's X1 and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man happened.

As I think both the Marvel Studios game plan and Dark Knight itself proves, it just takes the right mix of people who understand how the underlying material works at the creative, executive, and financial levels of film making. When you see big comic fans like Thomas Tull beginning to emerge at the financial and executive levels, you know the big picture for making consistent major-studio comic films is almost complete.  Warner Bros has the right mix of people and resources to do a job on the Justice League movie. We'll know in a couple years if they are able to put them together the right way, this time around.
