Support Ralph Bakshi And The Last Days Of Coney Island On Kickstarter

Ralph Bakshi is most definitely back. I recently shared one of his new shorts, Trickle Dickle Down, and he’s now using Kickstarter to raise funds for another, interlinked series of shorts.

Bakshi calls them:

an animated cop, mafia, horror movie set in the 1960s in Coney Island, with political overtones both realistic and outrageous.

It’s those political overtones that seem to be interesting Bakshi the most these days. I’m not at all sure he could get another Wizards-style fantasy up and running at a studio, but something like Last Days would be even harder.

Thank heavens for Kickstarter, then.

The lead animator is going to be Colleen Cox. Her Tumblr is well worth a ruffle and she’s definitely a good match for Bakshi’s style.

Bakshi is looking for $165,000 and funding will have to be completed by March 3rd.
