Gaspar Noë’s New Video For Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (Warning: I Think It’s A Bit Slight)

Gaspar Noë, the director of Irreversible and Into the Void, has tried his hand at a kind of shadowy lyricism for Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds‘ music video, We No Who U R. Warning: for once, Noë has included absolutely no penises.

Okay, I get it, but that’s pretty thin, isn’t it? Maybe if I watched it full screen, with the lights out. Are at night in the woods.

Cave recently wrote John Hillcoat’s Lawless, which will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on January 14th and is already out in the US. It seems to be a little wonky in places – I suspect Weinstein interference, but then I always do. It’s certainly a more satisfying experience than Noë’s video.
