Guillermo Del Toro Introduces Mama, The Short Film That Inspired The Upcoming Feature Film

The next horror story with Guillermo Del Toro‘s name on the poster will be Mama, along in the US on January 18th. This feature was directed by Andres Muschetti and co-written by Muschetti and Neil Cross, based upon an earlier short film by Muschetti.

Here is that short film with Del Toro’s introduction. This is what got him hooked to produce the full-length do-over. I do suggest you turn out the lights, pump up the volume and go full screen.

The feature film is is somewhat expanded from the short’s simple idea, of course, and has a new lead character played by Jessica Chastain. Here’s the film’s second trailer to help set it up.
