If we’re going to have the trailer for Scary Movie 5, and we are, then we may as well have the red band trailer for its competitor, A Haunted House too.
Well, they’re competitors in that they’ll be released three months apart but are both spoofing recent horror movies – and sometimes the same ones. By mid-summer they’ll both be clogging up the same shelves in Target.
Wayans co-wrote and starred in the first Scary Movie. I suppose A Haunted House is his way of staying in the game. And by game I mean miserable practice of spoofing popular films, mainly but not exclusively in the horror genre, and charging people to be appalled by what you’ve done.
He needs a less frustrating game. Here’s hoping he gets Monopoly for Christmas.
