Jason Flemyng Seems To Think Matthew Vaughn Will Direct The Next Star Wars

Jason Flemyng has worked with his good friend Matthew Vaughn a good number of times before, and meanwhile Vaughn is rumoured to be a contender for the Star Wars Episode VII director’s gig. So see if you can guess where the conversation goes in this red carpet interview with Flemyng from last night.

Around the 1 minute and 10 second mark, Flemyng starts talking about Vaughn directing Star Wars as though it’s a given – well, “bar the deal,” as he says.

That vid comes from Hey U Guys, who don’t seem to have run it on their site yet, but first out of the traps were This Is Fake DIY with this tweet:

They’re referring to the exact same comments made at the exact same time – they were standing just off camera in the above video.

I know for sure that wheels are in motion to get Vaughn’s film of The Secret Service going next year, so all of this Star Wars talk just confuses me. Flemyng, however, certainly seems to be acting like Vaughn’s in the running.

Perhaps it’s simply a case of Vaughn gunning for the Star Wars gig but not yet having it, and work on Secret Service continuing all the while. That much I could easily believe.

UPDATE: Hey U Guys have now run their video.
