First Image From Eli Roth’s Hemlock Grove Goes For That Gothic Graveyard Feeling

Hemlock Grove is being produced as a Netflix exclusive series by Eli Roth, who has also directed at least the first episode. Brian McGreevy has co-written the series from his own novel.

The story takes place in the titular Hemlock Grove, a community built around a steel mill. After a young girl is murdered, two of the chief suspects pool their resources to try and find the real killer.

This image shows those two guys, as played by Bill Skarsgaard and Landon Liboiron, lurking about in a graveyard.

Famke Janssen and Dougray Scott also have key roles in the show.

Of course there are echoes of Twin Peaks in the basic premise, but I’m hoping this show builds its own identity, and maybe style, right out of the gate. The chance of a direct comparison not coming off in Twin Peaks‘ favour are pretty slim.

Thankfully, the supernatural elements of Hemlock Grove seem to be heading in a different, and rather more hirsute, or even lupine, direction…

No idea on when the show will hit Netflix just yet, or if it will just be Netflix in the US, but I sincerely doubt it won’t roll out internationally. Will keep you posted.
