New Trailer For Beautiful Creatures Promises Some Swoony Gothic Magic

Richard LaGravanese first came to prominence with his screenplay for The Fisher King. In the meantime, he has become one of the harder worked, and better paid script doctors in Hollywood, and has adapted several books into feature films, both as a writer and director.

His next feature started life as a novel too, Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia. It’s filed away in book stores alongside Twilight and the rest of that ‘supernatural romance’ stuff, and I’m sure that’s actually done her sales the world of good. Whether or not it’s a fair classification, I can’t comment, but I’m definitely interested in the film – because of LaGravanese, because of the cast, because of Philippe Rousselot’s rich cinematography.

This new trailer for the movie showcases a little more than was revealed in the last US edit.

That trailer was on YouTube for a bit, but before I could publish, it was pulled, so thanks to The Film Stage for their… er… piracy? In a swashbuckling, Jack Sparrow sense?
