Trailer: Jon Hamm And Daniel Radcliffe In The Young Doctor's Notebook

Produced for the Sky Arts channel here in the UK, The Young Doctor’s Notebook appears to be punching somewhat above its weight in the casting department. Not only is there Daniel Radcliffe, there’s Jon Hamm, and putting them in the bath together like this is almost certainly going to get the niche, though regularly very good, channel its highest ratings to date.

Below is a trailer for the show that plays to the stars’ fan bases and alludes to something new and risque, perhaps, by promising us Radcliffe and Hamm as we’ve never seen them before. And what does that mean? Well, literally it means enacting a four-part dramatisation of Mikhail Bulgakov‘s semi-autobiographical doctor stories. Not quite as tantalising or tittilating a prospect as the slogan suggests, perhaps. I think they were probably going for “in the bath together” a bit more, maybe.

Still, Bulgakov’s a fine writer, this is a good cast and director Alex Hardcastle is no slouch either.
