Finally! Full Trailer For Wong Kar Wai’s The Grandmasters

One year after the first teaser trailer, nine months after the most recent promo, here’s a full-length promo for Wong Kar-Wai‘s The Grandmasters. The film is the latest in a string of biopics of Ip Man, virtually a legend for being Bruce Lee’s trainer. This time around, Tony Leung is playing Ip Man.

The film itself will open in Hong Kong this December. There’s no indication of when it might open elsewhere. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that all or most of this trailer footage won’t make the final cut of the film – Wong Kar-Wai is definitely still cutting now, and will be up until the print is prized away from him.

Actually, I won’t believe he’s finally stopped interfering with any of his films until I read his obituary. Both 2046 and Ashes of Time have had two full releases in hugely different edits.
