First Official Image From New Arrested Development Seems To Come From Another Show Entirely

For reasons that have yet been kept secret, Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter are appearing, apparently as themselves, in the upcoming Netflix series of Arrested Development. It’s because of this that Conan got to premiere the first official image from the shows, revealing Andy Richter in the makeup chair.

Why is Michael Bluth on the set of Conan’s show? Or at least, I assume that’s what’s going on here. As an ‘official image’ the implication is that this isn’t behind the scenes of Arrested Development, yet it’s obviously behind the scenes of something.

There are multiple other guests in the upcoming episodes, from Maria Bamford and Isla Fisher to Terry Crews and John Slattery. Returning from the previous series will be Carl Weathers, Liza Minnelli, Judy Greer, Scott Baio and Henry Winkler. As confirmed to me at the Frankenweenie junket, however, Martin Short will not be reprising the role of Uncle Jack.

The full run of new episodes, all more-than-ten-but-they’re-not-telling-exactly will be released, simultaneously, on an as-yet undisclosed date next Spring. That goes for the UK and the US, though it’s not guaranteed to be the same day.
