The region free Blu-ray of Killer Klowns From Outer Space is currently going for just $4.99. That’s a remarkable price for such a great disc.

The AV quality is actually very good despite the odd tiny whiff of most-will-miss-it print damage,* and it’s all certainly a quantum leap on from the DVD, and there’s a nice little pile of supplements including a good commentary, a 20 minute making of, some deleted scenes, Klown Kostume tests and the like.

But, of course, the real reason to buy it now is so that you can expedite the shipping and get it in time for Hallowe’en.

Man, I hate clowns. They scare the living crap out of me. I’ve always found this film to be an incredible rollercoaster – one minute I’m laughing, the next I’m disturbed by the sheer clowniness of what I’m seeing. And there’s no denying the fantastic charm of the Chiodo Bros. effects, particularly the stop motion and model work.

*It was a low budget film and not exactly a high-profile release.
