Empire Magazine’s latest issue came out today and has already been scanned and picked apart for Wolverine news. Here’s an image that Comic Book Movie ripped – or, in their typical fashion, just lifted from somewhere.
See the bone claws? Well, those come with a quote from director James Mangold explaining that the film isn’t a prequel to Bryan Singer‘s original movies. This has caused some confusion.
But it’s not that complex. The image you see above comes from scenes set before the Singer films. Most of the film, however, takes place at the very latest point in all of X-Men movie continuity so far. And you know the button scene at the end of the last Wolverine film that took place in Japan? Well, that’s not the starting point of this new movie, so don’t make that assumption either.
I have a lot more to tell you about The Wolverine in due course. Lots of very good things. Stay tuned.
For now, don’t get too confused. Wolverine‘s not getting bone claws back, nor is this new film set before the Singer originals. Now… look at Wolverine’s trousers in the above picture, look back over some of our previous coverage of the film and do the maths yourself.
