James Nguyen‘s desperately, impressively rubbish Birdemic was a genuine surprise, and until The Room came along, the millennium’s most popular “bad movie.” Looking at this trailer for the sequel, which is in every way more predictable, the one big question I’ve been pondering is if this is going to make Tommy Wiseau jealous and spark development of The Room 2.
Previously: a too knowing teaser that really shattered the illusion. Nguyen might be sincere and naive, but I’m now sure there’s some very deliberate, perhaps even cynical, people helping him get these films made, released and marketed.
