I understand that Hotel Transylvania is the sleeper amongst this year’s animated features. A ‘work in progress’ version was shown at the Annecy festival a few weeks ago and some of the toonheads I’ve spoken to since have talked with great passion about the calibre of animation and the timing of many of the gags.
Get just a hint of this from the latest extended trailer.
That’ll be Steve Buscemi’s first turn as an animated monster in the next twelve months, followed up with Monsters University.
And here’s an interview with director Genndy Tartakovsky from the same festival. The questions are pretty superficial so don’t expect too much, but on the other hand, it won’t take up much of your time, either.
