Steven Appleby's Phonebox In Shoreditch

A number of artists and designers have recreated a large number of London phone boxes, now becoming obsolete due to the proliferation of mobile phones, and have instead been recreated as pieces of art, and distributed across to London.

And one, in Shoreditch, metres from today's East London Comics & Arts Fair still going on, and from which I've just returned, is by cartoonist Steven Appleby. Well known for his work in the NME, Guardian, Times and cartoonist on Pixies album sleeves, I thought it was worth sharing. So I took a few shots.

The model is Eve Johnston (7), the ice cream bought from just outside Shoreditch High Street station.
