Listen: Sacha Baron Cohen’s Very Rare Out Of Character Interview With Howard Stern

Sacha Baron Cohen has only given over to be interviewed “as himself” on a very small number of occasions – three, four maybe. The latest is a pretty extensive chat with Howard Stern.

The reason, Cohen says, is that he’s a fan of Stern. Why? Because it was from Stern’s example that Cohen learned to disregard the law in pursuit of his comedy.

The interview has been uploaded to YouTube in full. I don’t know if it will stick around, but it’s definitely worth checking out while it’s there. I’ll also recommend the video commentary on the Bruno Blu-ray (just $7.99, which is great) that sees Cohen and Larry Charles speak openly about their work, even pausing the film to buy more time where necessary.

The Dictator will be with us next Wednesday. I’m looking forward to it a great deal.
