Lizard In A Lab Coat - Two New Images From The Amazing Spider-Man

There’s a bit of selective angling going on here, I think. Rather than committing to the full face of the Lizard, these new promo pics have gone “the full, unadulterated Tourneur” and just show us aslant angles of the big slimy beast.

Still, this is our first look at him in a lab coat. Quite revealing, really. Tells us that, even as The Lizard, Dr. Connors is going to be logical or intellectual enough, for want of better terms, to dress this way.

And also that he knows where to get really, really big lab coats from. Probably in the same aisle as stretchy purple pants.

That’s Irffan Khan as Dr. Ratha being grabbed about the throat there. The original plans were for this character to be Nels Van Adder, the comic books’ Proto-Goblin. That seems to have changed pretty quickly and now, he’s just a new character with no baggage.

And now, this second image which reveals that Peter Parker labels his camera very clearly. And that his camera is going to sometimes be created through slightly dodgy CG.

Oh – and it also seems to be telling us that The Lizard is going to find this camera somewhere and see Peter’s name on the back and likely work out something of some importance to the plot. Why else this close-up?

The Amazing Spider-Man is released in the US and UK on Friday July 3rd.

Thanks to Apple for sharing the images.
