Like pretty much everyone, I've been skeptical yet intrigued by the idea of a Total Recall remake — and this first full trailer does a good job of both evoking the original and moving the needle more towards intrigued. Alasdair Stuart does an excellent job of breaking it all down and telling us why we should be looking forward to more. He's wrong about Arnold Schwarzenegger vs Colin Farrell, of course, but I think that goes without saying. Still, this looks like another one I'll be looking forward to seeing.

Across the rest of the comics net, it was a poor turnout this year, some sites still recovering from being tricked by IDW into running a story declaring that Mars Attacks was to be a Broadway musical written and produced by John Layman. Two days later, Bleeding Cool pointed out that it was a hoax. Today IDW made that official.

Welcome to the future! Again! It's 2012 and Total Recall has been remembered for us wholesale by a whole new bunch of film makers. I find it utterly appropriate, and weirdly metatextual, that Len Wiseman's behind the lens on this one. He's ended up filling the 'Loud, flashy and slightly crazed' action movie slot that Paul Verhoeven did in the '90s so he's very much the sensible choice for this. And sensible is the word to describe at least the first of our nine thoughts.
Marvel are throwing a series of screening of The Avengers on April 14th. Each will be in IMAX 3D, and the decision as to which cities will play host to these previews will be/was made through a Facebook mechanic. Essentially, the cities that provide/d the most "likes" will/did get the screenings
