Total Recall Posters Reveal That Film Has Swapped Mars For… England?
The most interesting thing in this new motion poster for Total Recall is not the actual motion of Colin Farrell dissipating like a fart on the wind (though we're all very impressed by that), but rather the backdrop for all that hot graphics action. This poster originated over at JoBlo, but it takes a keen-eyed Brit like myself* to notice a certain landmark in the futuristic cityscape.
Did you spot it? It's our friend Big Ben. Here's the real thing and the image from the poster side-by side.
We already knew that Doug Quaid will not be travelling to Mars in the reboot, and this poster seems to suggest that the new setting will be a futuristic vision of London. The film's cast also seems to support this, as it features British actors Bill Nighy and Kate Beckinsale. I wonder what new phrases will crop up in the futuristic version of cockney rhyming slang?
Total Recall is currently scheduled for release on August 22nd 2012. Here's the non-motion poster.
*I'm actually very short sighted and sat on my glasses recently. They now fit someone's head, I'm sure, but it's definitely not mine.
