Heavy Metal Revives Monster Massacre For San Diego Comic Con

We knew something like this was coming.

Some of you may have fond memories of Monster Massacre, an Atomeka volume from Dave Elliott and Garry Leach that was full of Simon Bisley, Dougie Braithwaite, Simon Furman, Dave Gibbons, James O'Barr, Kevin O'Neill, Peter Snejbjerg and more.

Well now it's back, courtesy of Heavy Metal Magazine, launching at San Diego Comic Con featuring short monster-themed storues by Barnaby Bagus, Toby Cypress, Dave Dorman, Dave Elliott, Alex Horley, Andy Kuhn, Ron Marz, Mark A Nelson, Tom Raney, Philip Tan and Dave Wilkins.

Sami Bari and Jessica Kholinne will create the comic store cover, with Stanley Lau creating the newsstand version. While deviantART will create the San Diego Comic Con cover with Jim Steranko and Stanley Lau, sold at Artists Alley in San Diego, which they are again sponsoring. The back covers of all three versions will be by deviantART competition winners. The book will go on sale in July.
