Special Effects Tests Show Off The Scale Of Stan Winston’s Work On The Jurassic Park Series… And More

I did not know that there was an online school in the name of animatronics and FX pioneer Stan Winston; nor did I know that this school, The Stan Winston School of Character Arts, were releasing videos to the web, showing off Winston and the team’s work behind the scenes.

These particular videos show various physical dinosaur effects from the Jurassic Park films. As wonderful as the bleeding-edge CG in those movies was, there was also space – not to mention a need – for some animatronic puppets too.

Aaaaaand just for luck, here’s the Alien queen from Aliens, Teddy from AI and an almighty mess from Interview with the Vampire.

The full range of videos on the account include previews of the school’s lessons, which you can buy in full on DVD.

Thanks to Daily Blam for the heads up.
