For their first online clip from John Carter, Disney have decided to release… something that doesn’t make total sense out of context. But there’s still some pleasure to be had.
I really do love the timing on the two Tharks appearing, and then the horde. And the appellation “the one who jumps.” And while it doesn’t get much screen time, the first shot is quite astonishing. What is this structure? Why is it this shape, and constructed in this way?
Still, better clips are to come, I’m sure.
But not right this second. Instead, here’s a little snippet of Andrew Stanton talking about the film, showing off a baby photo (well, near enough) and talking up AMC theatres of some behind the scenes John Carter footage.
