Chew Meets Mars Attacks

Chew Meets Mars Attacks

The writer of Chew, John Layman, and the artist in Dicks, John McCrea are working together on a new version of Mars Attacks from IDW, coming out in June.

Both are known for creating absolutely outrageous atrocities poured upon their characters for maximum comic effect, and I have to say, it makes for a rather intriguing mix. McCrea also drew The Secret History Of The Authority: Jenny Sparks when Jon Layman was an editor – a run that actually cost Layman his job when he objected to the removal of Midnighter kissing Apollo on the cheek by DC corporate.

The comic will uniquely have 55 variant covers, each one representing one of the original Topps Cards set, from creators including Sam Kieth, Ben Templesmith and Eric Powell, and a set of cards collecting the new images will also be released.
