Another Avengers Set Piece Detailed – Loki Hijinks Spoiled

Lego. Oh, Lego.

Here’s the loose set-up of an action scene that would seem to come from The Avengers. It’s also the blurb that accompanies an upcoming pack of plastic bricks, intended to tie-in with the movie:

Loki is escaping from S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters with the powerful cosmic cube. If he succeeds, he could use it to wreak havoc on the world! Can Iron Man take to the skies in his amazing armored suit and chase down the speeding off-roader or will Loki escape with the cosmic cube? You decide! Includes 3 minifigures: Iron Man, Loki and Hawkeye.

Speeding off-roader? Okay. Anyway, this description explains what Lego set 6867, “Loki’s Cosmic Cube Escape” is all about. And here, courtesy of Brick Heroes, is a good look at the design for the Iron Man minifig as will be included. On the left is a prototype shown at Comic-Con last summer, but the up-to-date illustration on the right shows the Mark VI-style triangular arc reactor.

I expect we’ll be hearing more about sets 6865 – Captain America’s Avenging Cycle, 6868 – Hulk’s Helicarrier Breakout and 6869 – Quinjet Aerial Battle before long.
