Batman Crossover Announced – The Night Of The Owls

Batman Crossover Announced – The Night Of The Owls

As predicted, today's DC Source blog brings news of the Batman backups that will lift the book's price by a dollar and the page count by, I dunno, around eight?

Batman #8 will begin the history of the Court Of Owls, the masonic body we've been learning about in the comic. And that inspired the kind of nursery rhyme that probably turned little children into supervillains.

Regular series writer Scott Snyder will be joined by James Tynion IV, writer of the upcoming Shadow Free online horror series, writing the backups with Scott's American Vampire partner Rafael Albuquerque. And the back ups will set up the big Batman crossover DC is announcing, The Night Of The Owls. Expect Detective Comics' rise to a $3.99 book as well to contain something similar.

The main crossover will begin in May with Batman #9, The Fall of the House of Wayne, about the Court, Batman's parents and all from the point of view of Alfred's dad.

Of course, for me there is only one true dark history of owls. Take it away, Phone Shop.

UPDATE: Comic Book Resourrces confirms that both back up strips are part of the crossover, citing DC's The Source blog as the sourec- although it doesn't actually say that. Looks like CBR know more than they are letting on…
