Another day, another toy tie-in to a tentpole Superhero film and another apparent spoiler. This time, The Avengers, and we may have just learned which other naughty from the Marvel movieverse could be showing up.
Here’s the blurb for some new Heroclix, as related by Movieweb:
Charging straight out of theaters and onto your tabletop, Marvel’s the Avengers Movie HeroClix set features heroes like Captain America and Thor as they battle the villainy of the Red Skull and Loki!
As they what the who? That’s a new idea.
Now, it’s possible that the Heroclix set is going to draw in villains from the tributary films, and that there might be some Iron Man villains included too, suggesting The Crimson Cranium*
But it’s also possible that when The Ginger Minger** was sucked into another realm at the end of Captain America, he wound up in Asgard, teamed up with Loki and won himself a seat on the panel of Antivengers for Joss Whedon’s upcoming picture.
Or, in fact, there’s any number of ways he could pop up in the film and earn his Heroclix figure.
Do note that the blurb makes no mention of Skrulls or Thanos, so it’s perhaps less likely that the Heroclix copywriter has gone on a spoilerthon than the toy range has been designed reach further out than just the one film in the franchise.
