First Trailer For Jack The Giant Killer, Bryan Singer Style – UPDATED With Poster

Watching this first teaser, you’ll maybe recognise more plot elements of Jack and the Beanstalk than of your actual Jack the Giant Killer folktale, but above all else, the film is looking like a modern adventure movie.

And I think director Bryan Singer has more than shown his aptitude with those, so I’m looking forward to this a great deal.

It’s Singer’s first foray into 3D, and if these scenes are anything to judge by, he certainly hasn’t been shy about it. There’s a lot of ambitious, natural light photography in the film too, but I don’t want to judge the cinematography of this trailer on the strength of a rather low-res online encode.

What has gone completely unexplored here is the film’s emotional aspects. Is there going to be a story we get drawn into here? Who is this Jack? And this Princess? Will we give two hoots about either of them?

Thanks to Empire for premiering the trailer. You can see it in clean Quicktime on their site.

UPDATE: Also, this poster for the film appeared at Apple.
