First Trailer For Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator

This first trailer for The Dictator seems to be telling only half of the story. As well as playing the title character you will see here, Sacha Baron Cohen has a second role in the film, a goat herder who is a perfect lookalike for the dictator.

That character has a love affair with Anna Faris and… she’s nowhere to be seen. It’s like half of the movie, or possibly even more, is being entirely ignored.

So either there’s some really radical rewiring going on behind the scenes or there’s a trend of keeping movie trailers quite oblique and spoiler free catching on.

Seeing as there’s bound to be some identity swapping on the cards, perhaps we’re looking at the goat herder in several shots of that trailer but just don’t know it yet.

Now. That wasn’t exactly hilarious. I’m a very big fan of Cohen and really do love his Borat and Bruno movies. Here’s hoping there’s a lot more laughs and bite to The Dictator as well as plot.

The Dictator is expected in US cinemas on May 11th.
