Bradley Cooper Gives Graham Norton A Hangover 3 Update

If you tune into BBC One tonight at ten-to-midnight, you’ll be able to catch the last screening of this week’s Graham Norton Show.* His final guest is Bradley Cooper, making his second appearance in under six months. This time he’s there to plug the UK release of The Hangover Part 2 on DVD and Blu-ray.

During their conversation, talk of the box-office success of Part 2 segues into a little bit of gossip about the planned Part 3. Here’s my transcript.

Graham Norton: I’m sensing Hangover 3 won’t be that far away.

Bradley Cooper: I personally want to do it. Yeah, I hope we’re gonna start shooting in September. I know that Todd Phillips is working on the script, so…

Norton: Five hundred and eighty-one million dollars [box office for Part 2]. I imagine someone will make that. Even if it’s half as successful it’s worth doing…

Cooper: No, no, you’re right.

Norton: So, you don’t know…?

Cooper: – what it’s going to be about?

Norton: Well, obviously it’s going to be about a hangover.

Cooper: I don’t know actually. I think that we adhered to the formula in the second one, for those who’ve seen it, and the third one, I think, which would close the whole trilogy… I think it’ll take place in Los Angeles and maybe not adhere to the structure, it might be different.

Norton: You tease us!

Cooper: Yes.

Reading between the lines, it would seem that the third film is pretty much on track, and that they pretty much know what they’re doing with it, not to mention where and when.

I’ll hope for them that it all comes together. I’ll hope for me that I don’t hate it as much as the last two.

Oh… and if you’re wondering why Jessica Biel is in the picture at the head of the story, that’s because she’s going to be in Hangover 3 too. Using motion capture, she’s going to play the girlfriend of the monkey from Part 2. Well, either that or she was on with Norton to promote New Year’s Eve. Take your pick.

*You could use iPlayer, though I just think it’ll be fun if you stay up. We could have a kind of pyjama party or something. No?
