More Dark Knight Rises Images And Details Are Published

I don’t really know what to say about this other than I’d rather be writing about something else – anything else, really – so I’m going to keep it to the point. Or rather, some bullet points.

Those who do want to wallow in lots of light spoilers can go ahead and be my guest.

So, in the new Empire magazine, several quotes about The Dark Knight Rises reveal that:

  • The film is set eight years after The Dark Knight
  • Bruce Wayne is “older” (eight years older, I should wonder) and “not in a great state”
  • Tom Hardy says of Bane that he is “brutal” and that he will employ “small-joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stamping on shins and knees and necks and collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns.”
  • He also describes him as “a terrorist in mentality as well as brutal action.”
  • Bane is “suffering from pain and needs gas to survive. He can’t survive the pain without the mask.”
  • The IMAX preview coming next month is “basically the first six, seven minutes of the film. It’s an introduction to Bane.”

Sounds like Mr. Hardy was getting a bit carried away there, running off with all of those images of violence. I suppose that’s part of what makes him the right man for this kind of job.

There are an awful lot more words in Empire, and it obviously reads a lot better when not broken down into little fragments like that.

The magazine also contains a number of pictures, like this one:

I didn’t do that scan. Blame Coming Soon.
