Monday Trending Topics: Two Kinds Of Endings And One Beginning For MarvelDC may be the current marketshare king, but Marvel took today's mindshare race by sweeping the trending topic comic slots — although not all for positive reasons.  It was an interesting Monday for comics news across the board, with one of the industry's most eventful days of digital news ever lurking just outside the top 3.

Now Marvel Cancels Destroyers Series From Fred Van Lente And Kyle Hotz

Two issues may have been fully pencilled by Kyle Hotz. Marvel had announced the mini-series Destroyers a couple of months ago with a targeted promotional campaign. But no sooner had that happened than the book appears to have been cancelled by Marvel.
That's before orders could even have been received on the book. It hadn't even been solicited. Replying to enquiries on Twitter,writer Fred Van Lente tweeted;

The Final Issues Of The Twelve. Honest.

The Twelve, by Joe Michael Straczynski and Chris Weston is not only completed, as Bleeding Cool reported at the end of September. But now Marvel has scheduled it, announced a trade paperback of the first six issues of January, a catch up Must Have volume reprinting issues 7 and 8 for February, and then issues 9 and 10 in February, 11 in March, and 12 in April. Then that's it, done.

This kind of article seemed to be popular for Point One and Fantastic Four #600. So let's do another for the finished Defenders #1. Out in December, this is the last day retailers can order it to guarantee getting it on release day, so it seems opportune.
