Fanboy Rampage: Scott Lobdell Vs Ron Marz

Fanboy Rampage: Scott Lobdell Vs Ron Marz

Fanboy Rampage was a blog by Graeme McMillan dedictaed the funnies, most ludirous and most inappropriate comic book  back-and-forths online. McMillan has moved on now, becoming a proper journalist for the likes of Newsarama and Spinoff but he gave permission to Bleeding Cool to revive his great creation. Feel free to contribute your own spots of online excess.

Scott Lobdell is writing three of the new DCU books, Superboy, Teen Titans and Red Hood And The Outlaws.

Ron Marz is writing one, Voodoo, for the new DCU.

Together, they fight crime.

Or rather, they fight each other. On Twitter. It started a couple of days ago. In a very different discussion, Ron Marz stated.

Ron Marz: Fox News tells racists they're not racists, just freedom-loving Americans.

To which Scott Lobdell jumped in to reply;

Scott Lobdell: Haw Haw! I get it — all tea partier are racists, right? Hee haw! That is some funny material there! Ho ho ha! So insightful!

And then yesterday…

Ron Marz: "Worst. Week. Ever." — Racists.

Scott Lobdell: Dude, do you need a spoon or something to help remove that brain tumor?

Ron Marz: Probably, since I have no idea what that means.

Scott Lobdell: it means your daily Me Am Morally Superior To World rants are tedious and unoriginal. Let your work speak for itself.

Ron Marz: "Me Am Morally Superior To World"? Seriously? I was under the impression I'm allowed to think racists are bad people.

Scott Lobdell: Wow! What a stand: "Racists am bad" Why not use your writing to change hearts and minds instead of shooting fish in a barrel.

Ron Marz: Scott, please understand this is said with no malice: if my tweets somehow offend you, you don't have to follow me.

Scott Lobdell: I find your pomposity fascinating. Take this as an Tweetervention: no1 stands up FOR Racism 'cept morons. Ur impressing no one.

Ron Marz: It's not my goal to impress anyone. I just say what's on my mind. Sorry if that casts me as pompous in your eyes.

Scott Lobdell: Hmmm. Maybe you just need to think deeper thoughts.

Looks like we needed some peacemakers

Rob Liefeld: Both of you guys work this out privately!! Enjoy you both!

Kurt Busiek:Looking forward to that SUPERBOY/VOODOO crossover real soon now!

Of course Kurt was having his own back and forth

Kurt Busiek: ADVENTURE, SAVAGE DRAGON and USAGI YOJIMBO all have strong, attractive logos. SNARKED is good, but it's too small on the cover, the color mutes it and the trade dress around it clashes rather than complements. MYSTIC is awful. Doesn't have any charm, atmosphere or style. If there's no money/time for a new design, why not use the old CrossGen one? It's better than generic-looking typography.

Nathan Fairbairn: Once you're finished talking shit about the cover of Mystic, maybe say sth about the comic inside. I worked hard on that book.

And so it goes…
